The Centro de Arte Hortensia Herrero prepares a special programme of activities for families at Christmas.

Valencia, [26 November 2024] – The Centro de Arte Hortensia Herrero, located in the emblematic Palacio de Valeriola on Calle del Mar in Valencia and which has just completed one year since opening to the public, is preparing its special programme for the upcoming Christmas season.

The special activities will begin on 15 December and run until the morning of 5 January, just before Three Kings’ Day. This special programme will include Christmas carol concerts performed by children and various activities designed for the whole family.

Programme of activities

1.- Christmas carols at CAHH. Performed by “Pequeños Cantores”.

Dates: 15 and 22 December.

Price: 15 euros.

2.- Family activities.

An Ideal Museum.” This activity offers families the opportunity to recreate their own 3D version of the Centro de Arte Hortensia Herrero using a cut-out model. Guided by a mediator, the group explores some of the centre’s spaces and reflects on their relationship with the artworks. They then move to a workshop room where they build a model inspired by the CAHH using printable sheets and various materials. This activity is part of the CAHH’s regular programme, but on these dates it features a special Christmas edition.

Dates: 22, 26, 27 and 29 December, 2, 3 and 5 January.

Capacity: 20 people.

Audience: Family (+3 years old).

Clue game. Through a story, participants move through the different rooms, finding clues and solving riddles related to the artworks displayed in the Art Centre. The aim is to find a hidden treasure.

Dates: 21, 22, 28 and 29 December, 4 and 5 January.

Price: 7 euros

Capacity: 20 people.

Audience: Family (+3 years old).

“You, the Artist.” The aim of this activity is for participants to become familiar with the different materials used in some of the artworks exhibited at the Centro de Arte Hortensia Herrero. Afterwards, the youngest participants will create their own artwork, using similar techniques and Christmas-themed concepts.

Dates: 21, 26, 27 and 28 December; 2, 3 and 4 January.

Capacity: 20 people.

Audience: Family (+5 years old).

Storytelling session. This is a reading and art workshop led by Museo Juego, in which the illustrated book The Neighbours (Einat Tsarfati) is explored. From it, children will look at the works of Peter Halley and take a short tour of the museum in search of hidden doors.

Dates: 21, 22, 28 and 29 December.
